AFSearch Command Line Options

The autorun.inf automatic startup file on the CD-ROM can be configured to load index.html.  Auto register AFSearch with the user’s browser so that it can be called from within the HTML files.

  1. Place index.html in the root directory of your CDROM.
  2. Place autorun.inf in the root directory of the CD-ROM.
  3. Assuming that the files necessary to run AFSearch are in the \AFSearch directory, insert the following string into the autorun.inf file:
Examples of using command line parameters in AUTORUN:

[autorun]
open=afsearch.exe -reg -openindex -exit

As soon as the CD-ROM is inserted, AFSearch will register itself with the Internet browser, open the index.html file, and close itself.

open=afsearch.exe -setlocal:index.html

As soon as the CD-ROM is inserted, AFSearch will start localhost mode, and open index.html of the root directory in the browser. You may now perform searches as local cgi-bin
