Converters supported by AFSearch

Microsoft Import Converters

AFSearch supports text converters provided by Microsoft, for the indexing of of DOC and XLS files.

In most cases, these converters are already installed in the default directory as provided with MS-Office installation -- which are usually at:

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\TEXTCONV\

If you have the converter files but in another location, simply find or create a [CONV] folder under AFSearch.exe, and copy all files to this folder.

XPDF (PDFTOTEXT tool for PDF file indexing)

    Installation:
  • Download the PDFTOTEXT converter.
  • Create create a [CONV] folder under AFSearch.exe, unzip all files in PDF-Filter into this folder.
  • AFSearch will then be able to index PDF files.
